Virginia Evelyn Taylor, age 84, passed away peacefully May 17, 2022. Virginia was born on Sept. 9, 1937, in Kansas City, Mo., to Lawrence and Dorothea Martin. She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1956. Virginia married Cecil “Ray” Taylor, her sweetheart on Dec. 18, 1955. The couple had four children, Billy Joe, David, Terry and Cathy. Her children remember her as a godly, loving and giving mother who encouraged them in many ways. She was a devoted wife, accomplished artist and amazing seamstress. She enjoyed oil painting and photography. She often spent time hunting, fishing and bird watching with her husband and family. Virginia was most passionate about her faith in Christ. She was an active and dedicated member of LifeBridge Church; she taught Sunday school for fifty years and participated in several mission trips even traveling abroad.

She is preceded in death by her husband Cecil “Ray” Taylor; parents Lawrence and Dorothea Martin; son Billy Joe; her sister Carol; and brothers Tommy and Danny.

Virginia is survived by her son David and wife, Linda Taylor; daughter Terry and husband, Joe Perkins; daughter Cathy and husband, Bob Kidder; brother Theodore Martin and wife Barbara; sister Debbie Leimkuhler. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren – Laura, Sarah, Rachell, Nikki, Bryan, Melissa, Christina, Adam and Taylor; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, May 23, at LifeBridge Church, Kansas City, Mo. Virginia is interred at White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, Mo. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginia’s memory may be made to LifeBridge Church 3710 N Holmes, Kansas City, Mo. 64116.

The family would like to thank Brookdale College Square and Brookdale Hospice for their care and dedication to Virginia’s well-being.
