William Olen “Bill” Cantrell, age 77, of Blue Mound, Kan., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at the Olathe Medical Center. Bill was born Nov. 10, 1939, in Wister, Okla., to John William and Louellen (Hopkins) Cantrell.
Bill enjoyed keeping busy by working in his yard, especially the garden, and doing woodwork.
On Jan. 15, 1980, Bill married Marie Blasengyn.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Debra Ann Cantrell; and daughter-in-law Lori Cantrell.
He is survived by his wife Marie; two sons, Randall and Russell; three daughters, Ronda Morris, Regina Sailor and Christania Scott; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and his best buddy, “Trooper.”
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City. A funeral service for Bill will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Blue Mound Federated Church. Burial will follow in Sunny Slope Cemetery, Blue Mound.
