Wilma Virginia Cook, age 89, Stover, Mo., formerly of Pleasanton, Kan., passed away Friday, May 24, 2024. She was born on March 24, 1935, in Lockport, La., the daughter of Edgar and Dorena Matherne Guidry. She owned her own trucking company before retirement. She was united in marriage to Randy Goens. He preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 2001. She later married Charles Cook on June 29, 2003. Wilma was a member of the Wall Street Christian Church. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and fishing. She liked to go dancing. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gregory and Edward Chiasson; a brother, Emile Guidry; and three sisters, Ada Aucoin, Rosemae Matherne, and Ozema Comeaux. Wilma is survived by her husband, Charles Cook; and a grandson, Gregory Chiasson, Jr.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Burial will be in the Rockport Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to service time Wednesday at the Mound City Chapel.
