Zachary Eldon White, 32, of Mound City, Kan., died on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1992, in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Roger and Jessica Smith White. He graduated from Jayhawk Linn High School in the Class of 2010. He then received his electrician certification from Fort Hays Technical School. He was currently employed with the City of Mound City. His job description cut a pretty wide path. Could be anything from mowing, equipment maintenance, snow removal, street repair, even stuffing Easter eggs for the annual egg hunt.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and swimming.  He liked to target practice, especially the annual Thanksgiving Clay Pigeon Shoot. He was an accomplished Fantasy Football guru. Zach was a fan of the Chiefs, Royals and KU Jayhawks. He had a passion for the Mound City Lake. Zach was a true friend to many. Not only did he take the time to help his family with any problem they might have, he always had time to help those he knew, with any problem, it didn't matter when or where it was.

Zach is survived by his mother, Jessica Black; father, Roger White and wife Shelly; two brothers, Trevor White, and Jerad White; two sisters, Baylea White and fiance Austin Vance, and Bell Green; maternal grandfather, Gene Smith and wife Pam; maternal grandmother, Sue Smith; two nephews, Thomas and Kade White; and three nieces, Addison, Samantha, and Boston White. Zach cared for and loved all of his family very much, but, he had a special bond with his sister, Baylea.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Mound City Christian Church. Burial will be in the Curry Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 2, at the Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mound City Lake.
