On Thursday, Oct. 27, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement regarding the bodies of two individuals found in Blue Mound late last week.

According to the statement issued, deputies were dispatched to the address of 115 E. Kansas Avenue in Blue Mound on Oct. 21 to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival deputies discovered the remains of two individuals located in a camper on the property. The bodies were later determined to be the remains of forty-seven-year-old Amanda Locke Johnson and fifty-three-year-old Randall Smith, both of Blue Mound.

Currently the cause of death is undetermined and under investigation, but no foul play is suspected.

The statement noted that further information will be released when available.
