Members of the Blue Mound City Council met on Monday, January 2, for their regular monthly meeting. In new business, council members reviewed appointments for 2023. They voted and approved the following: Linn County News official newspaper; Farmers State Bank, official bank; council treasurer , Max Krull; council clerk, Max Krull; council meeting dates to be at 6 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month; mayor pay to be $45 a month; and council member pay set at $25 a meeting. The council then voted and approved for Donnie Rhynerson to remain as council president. 

After a brief executive session, the council returned to open meeting. It was agreed that decisions on raises for city employees would be tabled until the next meeting, January 16. 

Under old business, the council voted and approved to move Robert Moeller from temporary employee to permanent employee for the trash compactor. 

The council also approved the following items: minutes of the previous meeting and payment of bills in the amount of $44,806.14.
