The USD 344 board of Education met Monday and heard from Principal Nathan Meik that annual spring field trips are being planned to include trips for K through 6th to Wonderscope, Lego Land, Day at the K, and Kaleidoscope.
Incentive Day will be held May 9 for students to celebrate their hard work; with that they’ll be able to watch a new Hollywood feature with the cafeteria turned into a movie theater.
Field Day is May 10 beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Principal Sarah Conley reported that state testing for high school begins April 11, the Scholarship banquet is Wednesday, April 12 and the senior trip is April 30.
The board approved a request that the graduating class be able to decorate their caps with approved sayings and their exit song not be Pomp and Circumstance, rather a different theme song for the class played instrumentally.
Following executive session, the board approved hiring JoVoli Clark as junior high track coach; accepted the resignation of Xoe Altic, Amanda Stahl and Wendy Conley as FACS teacher – she is moving to Special Education.
The board approved that administration be able to negotiate with Jesse Secrest for to 2023/2024 school year math position.
