Cleo Roselle Correll, 65, of Centerville, Kan., died at 7:55 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015, at the Arma Health and Rehabilitation in Arma, Kan. Mrs. Correll was born Aug. 16, 1949, at Girard, Kan., the daughter of Augustine and Cleo Gilbert Mengarelli.
Roselle was a school teacher and homemaker who had been a resident of Centerville since 1999. She was raised in Girard and graduated from Girard High School in 1967. She later attended Ft. Scott Community College and Pittsburg State University and received a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education. She taught at the Navaho reservation in Arizona and the University of Utah. She was a para-professional at Prairie View School District in Linn County and served on the after-school program.
She married Dwight Correll Nov. 3, 1981 at Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. Correll survives at the home. She was a member the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Pittsburg.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight of the home; two sons, Nathan (Kimberly) Correll of Houston, Texas and Bryce (Kristen) Correll of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters, Ashli (Quinten) Webber of Westphalia, Kan., and Trista (Nicholas) Bieberle of Iola, Kan.; three sisters, Barbara Babcock of Arma, Beverly Vogel of Topeka, and Rachelle Mengarelli of Arma; two brothers, Gene Mengarelli of Prescott and Jimmie Mengarelli of Girard; and seven grandchildren, Molly and Eleanor Correll, Trowit, Brya, and Rayne Webber, Chloe Correll, and Jax Bieberle.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1507 S. Rouse, Pittsburg, Kan., with President Andrew Dokos officiating. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery in rural Girard, Kan. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kan. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Roselle Correll Memorial Fund. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, KS 66712.

Nobodys wins Blue Mound co-ed softball tournament

The team called Nobodys wins the Blue Mound 4th of July co-ed softball tournament on July 5. This year the tournament consisted of eight teams. The Nobodys is Keith Morrell’s team and has been a part of the softball tournament since it started three years ago.
Pleasanton 12-14 baseball wins championship

The Pleasanton 12-14 baseball team wins their league tournament on June 30 to July 1. Pleasanton hosted the tournament and won in the championship against La Cygne 11-7.
