Frank Lester Grosshart entered the world on May 13, 1942, and was taken into the loving arms of the Lord on July 28, 2016. Frank was born to Lloyd and Winnie (Gregg) Grosshart who lived by Boicourt, Kan. He attended Pleasanton School and graduated in 1960. Frank spent all his life on the family farm and enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to tractor pull, dance to all the old country music, visit with anyone he met, watch the red white faced calves, and spend time with his family. Frank never met a stranger he didn’t want to get to know.

Frank was married to Mary Lucile (Potts) Grosshart and they enjoyed doing things together. He is also survived by a daughter, Lona Grosshart; two step-daughters, Anita Smith and husband Terry, and Elizabeth Smith and husband Kenny; four grandchildren, Terry Joe Smith, Clarrisa Smith, Jeremiah Smith and Mariah Smith; and six great-grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Winnie Grosshart; one sister Wanda Lee Mitts; and step-son Michael Fisher.

Frank joined the Air Force in December 1965, and returned home to work alongside his father on the farm. Frank enjoyed going dancing at community dances and became a member of the Kansas Old Time Fiddlers and Pickers. He and Mary could cut a mean streak on the dance floor. Frank was very concerned for the community he lived in and became very involved in various committees, etc., such as: Linn Co. Farm Bureau President, Kansas Basin Water Advisory Committee, Trading Post Historical Society President, Linn Co. RWD 1 Board member, Linn Co. RWD 1 Board Representative to Wholesale Water, and Valley Township Central Precinct Committee.

Graveside funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to service time at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Contributions are suggested to St. Luke's Hospice House, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box 525, Pleasanton, KS 66075.
