If you’re a Kansas homeowner, you may qualify for a property tax freeze (refund) if you:
- Are 65+ years of age OR a 50% or more disabled Veteran
- Own and live in your home for at least one year
- Home value must be $350,000 or less in first year you qualify (base year)
- Have 2025 Kansas AGI household income of $58,041 or less - adjusted annually for inflation-
- Social Security is NOT included in Kansas AGI
Apply between January 1 – April 15, 2026 (must file every year)

Complete the form and file by April 15, 2026.

Note: Kansas still needs broader property tax protections, so families aren’t taxed out of their homes.
It is important that we pass legislation to help all taxpayers by: Protecting individual property owners with a 3% (or less) annual assessment cap, a 2022 baseline, and transferable protections.
