The semi-annual meeting of the Linn County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) was held last Thursday with several participants from across the county attending. The LEPC meetings are the fourth Thursday of January and July at various locations across the county.
Participants from each city, water district, gas or energy company, media, schools and more are invited to attend to keep them updated on plans that may evolve in the event of a catastrophic emergency.
Emergencies may be anything from ice storms, tornados, floods, hazardous material leaks to many other events that involve emergency personnel and Emergency Management.
LEPC is designed to get more people from more entities involved in emergency planning that may affect their organization or area of the county.
