Robert Larry Boehm, age 77, of Butler, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at his home in Butler. He was born Sept. 28, 1938, to Howard Isaac and Mamie Florene Howell in Kansas City, Kan.

Larry, one of two children, grew up in Stanley, Kan., where he graduated from high school in 1956. On Aug. 29, 1958, he was united in marriage to Glenys June Humberd. He completed his law enforcement training in 1970. Larry worked in the construction industry for many years, retiring in 1994. He was a man of many talents and farmed, worked as a policeman, drove a semi from coast to coast, hung siding and worked for Johnson County Road and Bridge.

In his early years, Larry enjoyed hunting and horseback riding. He later liked fishing, camping, visiting with family and friends and watching television with his cats.

Larry is survived by his wife, Glenys June Boehm of Butler, Mo.; two sons DeWayne Boehm of Amsterdam, Mo., and Rodney Boehm of Amoret, Mo.; one daughter Kammie Smalley and husband, Ronnie, of Butler, Mo.; one sister Marjie Elanie DuBois and husband, Terry, of Paola, Kan.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son Curtis Dale Boehm in 1980.

 

Larry’s wishes were to be cremated. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Linn Valley Community Church in Linn Valley, Kan. Arrangements: Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) Butler, Mo. Online condolences, www.schowengerdtchapel.com.
