Sharon was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Jerry L. Bedgood, Sr. in 2020, Also preceding her in death were her father, mother, stepmother, and half brothers Bill Ternyila, Kurt Ternyila, stepson John Bedgood, and step-grandson Tyler Carlson.

Survivors include her son, Michael L. Horton (Karen); siblings, G. Edward Rains (Brenda), Robert L. Rains (Sally), Donald Ternyila, Candace Keyes; sons by marriage, David McCarty (Joanna), Bryan Bedgood (Michele), Jerry L. Bedgood II (Stephanie); 17 grandchildren, Heather Searls (Chris), Hailey Stanek (Jack), Cindy Baty, Sandra McCarty (Brandon Hall), D J McCarty, Jr. (Katie), Anna McCarty, Christian Manns, Mick Bedgood, Hayden Powers, Bristol Bedgood, Jackson Bedgood, Kale Bedgood (Mollie), Briana Fredrickson (Jace), Imerie Bedgood (Jake Beckman), Kirsten Carlson (Andy Schroeder), Trent Carlson; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Sharon spent over 50 years (with help from others) keeping track of the 1959 graduates of Omaha North High School and she thought of those classmates as family.

She was a real estate agent in Omaha, Neb., before moving to Mound City in 2002.

Sharon loved her family very much. She enjoyed making Christmas candy and cookies for family and friends, and became a “kitty mama” for many cats. She also enjoyed collecting miniature dishes.

She spent countless hours crocheting items for “Operation Christmas Child” boxes and sending crocheted squares to South Africa where they were made in to blankets for orphaned children.

Following Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned. The family suggests memorial donations to Mound City Christian Church (MCCC). Friends and family may leave online condolences at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
