Patricia Walters, 74, of Prescott, Kan., passed away peacefully on Sept.  4, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. Born on Jan. 15, 1950, in Louisville, Ky., Patricia was the cherished daughter of William and Ada Mae McCombs. Patricia’s story is one of enduring love and subtle pursuit. When she first met Charles Walters, a friend of her brothers, she was not easily won over by his charm and persistent affection. Charles, however, was undeterred. He made a promise to marry her when he returned from military service, a commitment he kept with unwavering determination. Patricia, eventually moved by his steadfast devotion, and Charles were married on Sept. 15, 1972, marking the beginning of a lifetime together, built on shared dreams and a loving family.

Family was the heart of Patricia’s life. She and Charles joyfully welcomed their children— Julia, Ronnie Lisa, Madison, and Hannah—and later, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each bringing a special light into her world. As they nurtured their family, Patricia also found solace and happiness in her hobbies. She cherished tending to her garden, where her love for flowers blossomed as vividly as her affection for those around her. Fishing provided her moments of tranquility, and music was a soothing companion through the years. Her vibrant spirit was reflected in her beautiful garden and the melodies that filled her home.

Patty is survived by her husband, Charles Walters; children, Julia Titus, Lisa Gabrini, Madison Walters, and Hannah Weber; grandchildren Kayla, Sarah, Skylar, Sierra, Waylon, Stetson, and Mhylee; great-grandchildren, Novah, Nicholas, Charlie, Ashlynn, Cohen, Gracelynn, Alayna, Ryker, Elija, and Rhett; and four brothers. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ada McCombs, and a son, Ronnie McCombs.

A visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024 at Maple Hill Funeral Home, 3300 Shawnee Dr., Kansas City, Kan. 66106. Burial will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery.
