On 06-24-2026, Nathan A. Hurteau, Fulton, was traveling northward on Lewis Road at a high rate of speed and was unable to slow down in time for the 90-degree curve to the left onto West 750 Road. The vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck a telephone box and then struck a large concrete barrier with a gate attached. The barrier was moved approximately 1.5 feet and rotated approximately 25 degrees clockwise. The vehicle was removed from the scene by a family member as the vehicle was stuck on the barrier and needed towed. Pieces of the truck were located at the scene and matched back to the suspect vehicle. No injuries reported. (Case 260809)
On 06-27-2026, Laycie Dickson, La Cygne, was traveling northward on County Road 1095 near 2000 Road and hit a deer. (Case 260821)
On 07-02-2026, James Akes, while operating a vehicle owned by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, was traveling westward on West 1700 Road near Gireau Road when he struck a deer. (Case 260839)
On 07-02-2026, Susan L. Parker, Pleasanton, was traveling northward on US 69 Highway near 2200 Road when a deer struck the front left corner of her vehicle. The impact caused the door to be jammed, trapping the driver inside. Upon arrival, units were able to pry the door open. No injuries reported. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven away. (Case 260840)
On 07-03-2026, Hayley D. Clark, Mound City, backed into a roadway from a driveway and struck a vehicle driven by Jonathan B. Cox, Pleasanton, on the passenger’s side under the extended cab window. The accident happened on private property in a lake community, but a report was taken out of courtesy for both subjects. (Case 260846)
On 07-08-2026, Harley A. Singer, Parker, was traveling southward on Kansas Highway 7 near Keitel Road when a deer jumped in front of the vehicle, causing debilitating damage to the front of the vehicle. (Case 260864)
