On 07-18-2025, Bryan E. Janssen, Pittsburg, was traveling southward on Quail Road near 400 Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle on lose gravel and drove off a bridge, landing upside down in a creek. (Case 250663)
On 07-21-2025, Talan D. Hamilton, Pleasanton, was traveling westward on 1100 Road near Scott Road when the driver noticed his seatbelt was not fastened and fastened it. While fastening his seatbelt, the driver lost control crossing the center line and entered into the north ditch. The driver continued driving in the ditch and jumped a concrete culvert, landing on the opposite side. The driver exited on his own and called 911, stating he was injured, complaining of ankle pain. His mother then arrived on scene and transported the driver in personal vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene. (Case 250678)
On 07-21-2025, Joshua M. Sandness, Pleasanton, was traveling eastward on Kansas Highway 52 near Read Road when he struck a deer, causing damage to the radiator and front bumper. (Case 250675)
On 07-24-2025, Brenton T. Laver, Pleasanton, was traveling westward on Kansas Highway 239 and hit a deer just west of the White Road intersection. (Case 250686)
On 07-27-2025, John W. Bright, Mound City, was traveling via motorcycle on 1150 Road near Olinger Road when he went into loose gravel and lost control of the motorcycle. The vehicle went into the ditch and rode the bank of the ditch before coming to a stop approximately 300 feet from where the skid marks began. The motorcycle appeared to have hit a tree when it stopped. The driver went to a nearby residence to report the accident and then fled the scene. The passenger on the bike was found on scene with a compound fracture to the left ankle and was life flighted to the hospital. (Case 250691)
On 07-28-2025, Russell Likens, Coweta, Okla., was traveling northward on US 69 Highway when a deer entered the road way and struck the vehicle. (Case 250694)
On 07-29-2025, Cathleen A. Stockton, La Cygne, was northbound on Kansas Highway 152 and struck a deer. The deer caused damage to the driver’s front corner and driver’s front fender. No injuries reported. (Case 250698)
On 07-29-2025, James L. Brisbin, Fontana, was southbound on Kansas Highway 7 and missed the turn at 2000 Road. He turned on his left turn signal when approaching a field entrance and started to turn when he hit the passenger’s side of a vehicle driven by Russell K. Ford, Fontana. Ford was also southbound on Kansas Highway 7 and noticed Brisbin driving slower than his speed. Ford stated he saw it was clear to pass and proceeded to make the pass. The impact caused Ford’s vehicle to slide into the east ditch. No injuries reported. (Case 250701)
On 08-01-2025, Cherokee L. Cassida-Razo, Parker, was traveling on West 2200 Road near Lamb Road when he lost control of the vehicle and went through dense woods before coming to a rest upside down. (Case 250714)
On 08-01-2025), Bobbie G. Thompson, Pamona, was traveling westward on Kansas Highway 52 just west of Wakefield Road when a deer entered the roadway and struck the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene. (Case 250715)
On 08-02-2025, Venubabu Kolla, Overland Park, was traveling southward on US 69 Highway .25 miles south of Kansas Highway 52 West when a deer come into the highway and was struck by the vehicle. The impact caused heavy damage to the left front corner, including the hood, bumper and left body side. No injuries reported. (Case 250716)
On 08-04-2025, Jason D. Boddy, Mound City, was traveling northward on US 69 Highway near 2200 Road when he struck a deer. (Case 250728)
On 08-05-2025, Gabriel J. Davenport, Girard, was traveling southward on US 69 Highway near the Kansas Highway 239 exit when an unknown vehicle traveling northward on US 69 Highway lost its wheel, tire and break assembly. The wheel assembly crossed the median and collided with the vehicle driven by Davenport, causing major damage to the vehicle. Davenport complained of chest pain and was transported to the hospital via EMS. (Case 250729)
